Old (approx. 1835) purely Americanhybrid variety of grapes (Vitis Riparia / vitis labruska) . It ripens late . A vigorous and productive variety. Berries small dark purple or black, with large seeds, high acidity and hybrid flavors . Clinton is very sensitive active content lime in the soil . This hardy grape variety is resistant to fungaldiseases and phylloxera . Can be used for the production of densely colored red wines with aromas of strawberry, mediocre quality . And, as phylloxera resistant rootstock not very alkaline soils .
