Leaves simple, oblong-ovate, pointed, serrated on the edge, on short petioles . Peppermint is easily recognized by serrated leaves with a purple edge . The flowers are small, whitish-pink, pale violet orpurple collected in false whorls forming spicate inflorescence apical . Peppermint flowers from June to August . The fruit consists of four nuts dark brown .
